In a conversation moderated by Sharad Sharma, Vivek Raghavan, Rohit Gupta and Shyam Sundaram from iSPIRT Foundation outlined India-specific COVID patterns and predictions.
Sharad Sharama is the co-founder of iSPIRT Foundation. Prior to that, he Chaired NASSCOM Product Forum in its formative years and was a member of the NASSCOM Executive Council from 2009-13. He also co-founded Teltier Technologies Inc., a wireless infrastructure startup now part of CISCO, and is an active technology angel investor with over two dozen investments. Sharad is a member of SEBI's Financial and Regulatory Technology Committee, and has also served on RBI's UK Sinha MSME Committee and National Digital Payments Committee. Sharad holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Delhi College of Engineering.
Vivek Raghavan is Chief Product Manager and Biometric Architect at the Unique Identification Authority of India. He has been responsible (as a volunteer) for the design and roll out of the technology platform for Aadhaar, the world’s largest identity program. Vivek has also been the Chief Technologist for Team Indus, India's entry for the Google Lunar XPrize. Prior to that he spent 20 years in the field of Electronic Design Automation, successfully founding, running and selling two EDA startups and being responsible for the design and development of multiple market leading EDA products. Vivek has an M.S. and Ph.D in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and an B. Tech. from IIT Delhi.
Dr. Rohit Gupta is the chief AI officer at Buddhimed, an innovative HealthTech start-up that converges AI and Modern Medicine by developing machine learning tools and solutions using very large health data sets. He also teaches at IIT-Madras and IIIT-Delhi. Dr. Gupta has more than a decade and a half experience in applying data driven models to scientific and commercial domains, including civil infrastructure, earth and atmospheric sciences, computational biology, medical and healthcare informatics, customer analytics, recommender systems and computational advertising. He has worked with Mayo Clinic, Genentech, Strand Life Sciences and MedGenome. Dr. Gupta holds a PhD in computer science from the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Shyam Sundaram is the Senior Head, Business Ontology & Knowledge Engineering at Bajaj Finserv. He has over 25 years of leadership experience in driving technology innovation for business growth, with expertise in multiple domains—financial services including lending and insurance, fintech, healthcare and informatics. He has extensively worked with Tata, AIG, NTT Data, SRA International across national and international projects. Dr. Sundaram holds a PhD in computer science from the University of Madras.
