Ashveer was a Senior Research Associate at IDFC Institute. He is engaged as a state resource person for the Punjab State Advisory Council, working with the government on policy reforms.
He is a PhD candidate in the Department of Anthropology at Stanford. His research interests are governance, bureaucracy and political culture in Punjab. His dissertation includes a qualitative policy-to-field analysis of the New Food Security Act 2012 and Aadhaar card implementation, from ideation by bureaucrats to its execution in the field.
Prior to joining IDFC, Ashveer completed a qualitative research project on election integrity in the 2019 Indian elections for Facebook. He earned a BA in Anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.A. in the Social Sciences from the University of Chicago.
